About Albi
Artist STATEMENt
Albiann (Albi for short) is a photographer, sculptor, and artist. She has developed her naturalistic and abstract photographic styles over the past 12 years. Albi views analog photography as a magician’s tool, but the magic is sourced from nature.
The resulting images are born from an agreement between the artist and the earth to combine their talents, and make something stirring, mesmerizing, and inspiring. As Albi walks through forests and up mountains, the trees freshen the air, and the sky inspires deep thoughtfulness. Their soul feels lighter, and joy comes easier. Freedom seeps through her fading anxiety. Then Albi takes out her camera, and preserves moments of perfect harmony, where the light and shapes align.
Sometimes harmony presents itself elegantly, other times disguised with violent forces.
The artist’s sentimental style derives from going through her grandmothers’ jewelry boxes. All the tiny drawers held their own treasures and mysteries. The personal connection and nostalgic memories made these objects and explorations priceless.
Albi’s artistic mission consists of forming a similar sentimental connection between the viewer and the Earth. They believe creating this nostalgic relationship with nature will inspire Earth’s human inhabitants to appreciate, respect, and heal the planet.
Albi grew up in the scenic desert of Arizona, before roaming much of the western US to experience the diversity of its beautiful landscapes. Their photographs include natural arches, waterfalls, creeks, trees, and mountains from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, to Mt. Rainier, to Joshua Tree, CA, and many landscapes in between. She studied fine art at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and in Florence, Italy. After a year traveling in her Tahoe, Albi moved to Seattle in late 2021 with her fiancée.
